2013.
It’s here.
The first lesson I am taking away from the Tribe Writers course I am taking with Jeff Goins is not from the curriculum. Instead it’s from the other students who are courageously sharing their stories, dreams and aspirations.
I’ve always been more comfortable with the abstract metaphoric language because it serves as my cloak, carefully concealing my concerns and vulnerability.
The courage of my classmates is inspiring me. Their writing contains pieces of their joy, heartache, sorrow and hope. This is not safe writing. It’s scary to put oneself out there for the world to see.
2013.
I will sit with my keyboard and put pieces of myself into my writing.
Courage.
One of my best friends picks a theme for each year and I have just found mine.
Will you join me?

Write, Deanne. We’re waiting.
