It’s Friday and I will be leaving the office at 5 p.m.
My desk is covered with piles. I know where everything is, even if it may not look like it. Today is my last chance to complete projects and strike things off my to do list before heading into the weekend.
Friday is my catch up day. Like a kid, I’m trying to complete my homework to free up my weekend.
When I create to do lists, my over-achieving nature likes to cram as much as possible onto my list and then rush through the day, dragging my weary soul behind me as it screams enough.
The antidote to the too much to do syndrome:
realizing my limitations and
intentionally deciding what I will leave undone.
What will you leave undone this weekend?
For me: I’ve been pushing myself at work and at home this week. This weekend I’m going to focus on writing, resting and time with Jon. I’m going to leave my file organizing and deep cleaning projects undone.
