Eclectic Waters

Live, Learn and Hope

Eclectic because the first time I heard the word, I instantly wanted to put it in my pocket to keep. Water because I spent some of my most formative years aboard a ship. I consider the sea my home.

The synopsis of my growing up:
I was born in Germany, but my passport is Canadian and I hope to become a U.S. citizen in the next couple of years. After being born I lived aboard the O.M. (Operation Mobilization) ships until I was seven. My parents, along with their now 4 children, returned to Canada and I completed 2nd grade. The following summer we moved to Mosbach, Germany to the O.M. ship headquarters. I repeated 2nd grade because of the language barrier and was half way through 6th grade when we moved to the Logos II (an O.M. ship) in November of 1996. We joined the ship in France and continued through Europe and sailed across the Atlantic ocean to the Caribbean and then through the Panama canal towards Canada & the U.S.

In the Fall of 1998 while my family remained on the ship, I attended boarding school at the Black Forest Academy in Germany for my 10th and 11th year of High School. The final move of my adolescence came my senior year of high-school, when my family and I moved to El Cajon, California and I attended a private Christian school. Since then, 1999, I have been living in the States.

I love to dream, think, organize, learn, talk about ideas, encourage people, grow, inspire others, get things done, be in nature, write, be with my friends, make new friends, read, give readings & speeches, sketch, laugh, discover…

This blog is a part of me. The part that loves words and that wants to encourage and inspire others to continue learning, living and hoping despite the storms that may come our way.
